THE BLACK CAT  The Black Cat is one of Poes  renowned  butcher tales. The story is told by the murderer himself, the  bank shop clerk is speaking to us on the  shadow before his exe boxion for the  offence of  cleanup his wife. He tells of how he was a very  indistinct boy, and how his parents provided him with a variety of pets. He cared for these animals and was befriended by them in return.  spring  in front in time, the  vote counter tells us that he married a woman who shared his affection toward animals. She brought  numerous animals into their home including a large, black  barf that they named  underworld. The  teller form an especially  concentrated bond with netherworld, who became his constant companion. But as time passed, the  fabricator and his character underwent a dramatic  interchange for the worse. Under the influence of alcohol, he became physically abusive to  two his wife and their pets. Even Pluto began to avoid his master. This irritated the narrator.  whiz nig   ht after a lot of drinking, he seized the cat by the throat and cut one of Plutos eyes. On the  sunup after this incident, the narrator recalls  intent remorse for his inhuman act. Pluto recovered, but ran in fear whenever the narrator approached. This made the narrator feel sad at  initiatory then the  gloominess grew to rage.

  Once the rage had reached an unbearable  marches the narrator snapped.  He impulsively hung the cat from a  point outside his house. That night the narrators house and worldly possessions were destroyed by a fire. Eerily, the  draft of a gigantic cat with a noose  round its neck appeared on the one  gr   oyne of the scorched house. The narrator tri!   ed to rationalize this as  unsloped a coincidence.
